Made for Mini Jam 134: Islands with the restriction of "On a Grid"

NOTES: 

  1. WASD and mouse wheel for camera
  2. restarting the game doesn't work this time, you will get extra cards going off the right side
  3. I ran out of time and the later game isn't balanced
  4. There is a UI bug when going full screen and then back and clicking on the hexes that can sometimes remove all text, seems to be a Unity level bug.

Build a deck of cards that you use to build and populate your island.  

The island is a grid of hexes with different heights.  Different things can live at different heights.

Deep Ocean - whales and fish

Shallows - fish, otters, kelp, sharks, and reefs

Beach - palm trees, crabs, and seagulls

Highlands - bushes, forests, and sheep

Mountains - alpine forest, and goats

The goal is to build a thriving island.  Once you have Whales, Otters, Crabs, Sheep, and Goats you've won.

(There isn't an actual win screen, sorry)

it was confusing to figure out how to place animals down onto my island, I consistently had glitched or broken cards, and the cards I did have were off to the right side of my screen.

I'm guess you restarted at some point.  The restart flow does break the cards like you are saying and they go off the right side of the screen.  I also just noticed some bug (Unity level bug) that the text disappears if you go into full screen mode and then do an interaction with the hex grid, or something like that.  It isn't very reproducible.

I am so angry at this game, I wasn't able to get the crabs

- please fix the issue where all text disappears after you turn on fullscreen

- please don't make the XP scaling so harsh on higher levels

- please add more scrolling, can't exploit the whole map if I can't click on it

wow, that is a lot of volcanos.  For scrolling you can use WASD and the mouse wheel to control the camera.
